Meet your Local 302-South Executive: Secretary! Anita Jaworski 😊
Nursing has honestly been part of my story for as long as I can remember. I’ve always known I wanted a career that meant something—and for me, that’s always come back to caring for people, showing up in the hard moments, and being part of something bigger than myself.
I completed my BScN at the University of Western Ontario in London, and jumped straight into oncology after graduating. It wasn’t my original plan—but sometimes the best paths are the ones you don’t expect. Oncology quickly became home, and I haven’t looked back since.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across inpatient oncology, hematology, radiation, and palliative care, eventually finding my niche in outpatient hematology/BMT. I’ve spent much of my career supporting patients with multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and other hematologic malignancies. After COVID, I transitioned into solid tumor clinics at the Arthur J.E. Child Cancer Centre, and most recently stepped into my current role as an Adolescent & Young Adult Nurse Navigator—a role that continues to challenge and inspire me every day.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me recharging in the mountains (we’re pretty lucky to call this our backyard 🏔️), spending time with my husband and our three kids, or enjoying a good family movie night—because sometimes you just need a little Disney reset.
I chose to get involved with UNA because I care deeply about our profession and the people in it. I believe in accountability, advocacy, and being part of meaningful change. I’m someone who isn’t afraid to ask questions, speak up, and keep learning—and I’m grateful to be part of a team that’s doing just that.
