18th Street Planter project!
You may have noticed the new planters along 18 Street SE. This was a Riverbend Community Association initiative led by board members who wanted to add a little more beauty and colour to 18 Street—the road that most Riverbend residents travel every day when coming and going from the community.
The planters were funded through a combination of grant funding, fundraising efforts, donations, and community support. The planters themselves are owned by the RCA and will remain a community asset for years to come.
To help ensure they look their best throughout the summer, we partnered with Marlow Floral Works—the same company that maintains the beautiful planters in Quarry Park. They will be watering and pruning the planters through the end of August.
What many people may not realize is that the RCA Board is made up entirely of volunteers. Projects like this only happen because community members are willing to donate their time, ideas, and energy to make Riverbend an even better place to live.
If you've ever thought about getting involved, we'd love to hear from you. Whether you're interested in joining the board, volunteering at events, helping with community projects, or sharing your skills and expertise, there are many ways to contribute.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. We hope these planters bring a little extra colour and enjoyment to Riverbend throughout the summer.
