TLB Group/YYC Rocks is an organized team of volunteers, whose primary focus is to build the local live music scene. Founded in 2010 when Terry -Lee Bharti did the very first one at Studio 37 for Haiti on a dare. We also strive to create a community and partnership between the original and cover bands. To date we have utilized fundraising benefit concerts (benefitting Alberta Cancer Foundation, Int
erfaith Food Bank, Humane Society, Red Cross, Dare to Care, CJAY 92 Kids Fund just to name a few) featuring all genres and types of musicians to achieve our goals. 100% of all costs involved in our events are donated by the organizers, musicians, venues and companies involved, giving us the added benefit of giving back 100% of the proceeds to our local and global community. To date TLB Group/YYC Rocks has raised over $100,000 for various charities. In 2015 we hosted our very first YYC Rocks Against Bullying. Terry Lee Bharti was excited to have his daughters step up and take an active role in a cause close to their hearts. In 2016 Tragedy struck with the loss of Terry’s 23 year old daughter Jocie. The YYC Rocks against bullying event went ahead , now dedicated to the Memory of Jocie Bharti. YYC rocks against Bullying in March of 2020 was the last event hosted by the Kings Head. In 2020 Terry Lee Bharti decided to step away and turned the group over to the final TLB team: Kristin Laverty, Christian Dallaire and Rick Anderson. They decided to continue under the banner of Radikal Events. Unfortunately due to the worldwide pandemic our model was just not feasible and the group folded. In 2021 TLB in conjunction with Radikal Events hosted the event at the Back Alley. In December 2021 tragedy struck again with the loss of Terry’s firstborn daughter Asha, she was only 30 years old. In honour of the memory of Terry’s girls some of the original team members have decided to return and host the annual YYC Rocks against Bullying event as a tribute to and in memory of the girls. These people put a lot of time and effort into creating some seriously great shows. The added bonus being that we’ve raised over $100,00.00 for some very important causes.
