A message to our members and friends in Canada from IGRA.
Dear Canadian Rodeo, Royalty, and Dance Enthusiasts,
As we approach the 50th year of Gay Rodeo, I want to personally invite you to join us in celebrating this significant milestone. Our community has always been built on the principles of inclusivity, unity, and shared passion for the sport of rodeo and country and western dance.
The upcoming World Gay Rodeo Finals (WGRF) 2025; “Rodeo, Royalty, Reunion, and Dance” in Reno, NV in October 2025 is a landmark event in LGBTQ+ history, returning to the city where the first gay rodeo was held. This gathering offers an opportunity to honor our collective journey, celebrate our achievements, and strengthen the bonds that unite us.
Many of you are conflicted about coming into the United States currently, and we understand… however, I encourage you to consider the significance of this event within our community. By participating, perhaps as a one-time essential travel experience, you contribute to a legacy of unity and support that defines the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA). Let us not allow external pressures to overshadow the importance of coming together to celebrate our shared history and culture, in this once in a lifetime moment.
Canada is the country that makes IGRA an International Association, and we look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with you, honoring the past, and looking ahead to a future filled with continued camaraderie and shared passion for the sport we love.
The All-Events Pass is available online for $100 US, but with your Canadian ID when picking up your pass at “Will Call” IGRA will refund $30 US to you. Your final cost for the pass will be approximately $100 Canadian. In this small way we hope you feel heard and supported.
We want you to know we value your contribution to our shared history and will value your participation in this historic reunion. We can’t wait to see you there.
Warm regards,
Brian Helander
President, International Gay Rodeo Association
