The Genesis Centre of Community Wellness is Calgary's biggest multi-purpose sport & special event complex.

225,000 square foot, $120 million multi-purpose complex was built to enrich the health, wellness, and unity of communities in Northeast Calgary. The North East Centre of Community Society (NECCS) portion of the facility includes two indoor soccer fields, an oversized gymnasium, several community multi-purposes spaces and boardrooms, a community kitchen, and two outdoor soccer fields. In addition t

o traditional sport and recreation activities, the Genesis Centre will be capable of hosting a wide range of social, cultural, and corporate events. The YMCA and a branch of the Calgary Public are facility partners.

The Genesis Centre Community Grants are open and up to $3,000 is available
for individuals, groups, and organizations with projects that bring this
community closer together.

No idea is too small. If it reduces isolation, gets families more active,
supports youth, or strengthens the people around you, it qualifies.

Applications close August 31, 2026 at 5 PM.

New artwork is now on display through the Northeast Mini Galleries at Genesis Centre.

We are proud to feature Calgary-based multidisciplinary artist Saloni Sharma and her exhibition, Reimagined Traditions.

Using handmade paper pulp plates as her canvas, Saloni blends traditional Indian folk-art influences with contemporary techniques, creating vibrant works that explore cultural memory, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

Visitors are invited to take a moment during their next visit to Genesis Centre to experience the exhibition up close and learn more about the stories, traditions, and creativity behind each piece.

Applications for the Genesis Centre Student Awards 2026 are now open.

Genesis Centre is awarding two scholarships of $1,500 each to graduating Calgary high school students entering post-secondary studies. The funding is applied directly to tuition and does not need to be repaid.

If you are graduating Grade 12 and have been involved in your school or community, we want to hear from you.

Applications close July 15, 2026.
