One man has been charged following an investigation into an assault with a weapon that occurred in downtown Calgary.

πŸ“ At approx. 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, officers responded to reports of a stabbing that occurred at Seventh Avenue & Fourth Street S.E.

A man in his 20s was transported to hospital in serious condition & has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The suspect fled the area & was later identified & arrested without further incident.

The suspect & victim are known to each other.

πŸ“Œ Tyree Jordan ALEXANDER, 26, of Calgary, has been charged with 1 count of aggravated assault & 1 count of possession of a dangerous weapon.

He will next appear in court on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Our Homicide Unit continues to investigate the deaths of two people in the northeast community of Temple yesterday.

πŸ“ On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at approximately 2:05 p.m., police attended a home in Temple to check on the welfare of a resident. Upon entering the home, officers found a woman & a child deceased.

Following autopsies conducted today, Thursday, June 11, 2026, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death of the boy, aged 7, has been deemed a homicide. The death of his mother, age 42, was deemed to be su***de. Police believe she is responsible for her son’s death & are not looking for any other suspects.

πŸ’¬ β€œThis is a tragic and traumatic event, we recognize that this affects not only the family of the victims, but members of the wider community as well.” - Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn, with the CPS Homicide Unit.

Out of respect for the impacted family, identities of the individuals are not being released.

In this case, there was no reported history of family violence.

Our Homicide Unit has laid additional charges in relation to the death of a man that occurred in the southeast community of Ogden last year.

πŸ“ On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at approx. 12:30 a.m., police were called for reports of gunshots in the 7000 block of 20 Street S.E. Upon arrival, police located the victim, outside his vehicle, deceased.

As the investigation progressed, police charged 1 youth & 2 men each with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, while continuing their search for a fourth suspect.

Yesterday, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, our partners at the Edmonton Police Service located & arrested the outstanding suspect who was wanted on Canada-wide warrants for murder.

πŸ“Œ As a result, Yahya ABDULLAHI, 22, has been charged with first-degree murder & conspiracy to commit murder. He is scheduled to next appear in court on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Investigators have arrested and charged 1 man in relation to a shooting that occurred on the weekend in the city’s northeast.

πŸ“ At approx. 3 a.m., yesterday, Sunday, June 7, 2026, police responded to reports of a man who had allegedly been shot outside of the Samosa House, located at 4310 104 Avenue N.E. It is believed the shooting occurred as a result of an altercation that took place outside of the Head Over Heels lounge, located in the same plaza.

The suspect was observed fleeing the scene in a grey 2019 Dodge Charger bearing Alberta license plate CTJ 0073 at a high rate of speed before police arrived. With the assistance from HAWCS, officers were able to safely conduct a traffic stop & took the suspect into custody. Police seized a loaded Canik TP9sfx 9mm handgun from the vehicle.

Though the suspect’s vehicle has been located, investigators are releasing a photo of the vehicle in hopes of advancing the investigation, in case people have information who have not yet come forward.

πŸ“Œ As a result, Gurshish Singh BRAR, 22, is charged with 1 count each of discharging a firearm with intent & unauthorized possession of a firearm. BRAR will appear in court today, Monday, June 8, 2026.

πŸ”Ž Police continue to look for 2 additional suspects who are believed to be involved in the shooting. Witnesses describe the suspects as men between 20 & 30 years old.

The victim, while shot at, was found to be uninjured. Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the incident.

We are on scene of a reported shooting in Connaught Park. One man has been taken to hospital in serious condition. Several people have been taken into custody for questioning, however, their possible involvement is not yet confirmed. The investigation remains ongoing.
