After many hours… the recipients have been selected!!

Keep your fingers on! Our team will be calling all chosen candidates this week! Calls will be completed by thanksgiving Monday, if you don’t hear from us unfortunately you were not selected this year. With over 100 applicants it was extremely difficult to choose & we encourage you to apply again next year!

Its that time of year, school is almost in, most of you dancers have started back in the studio & our scholarships are back to give 20 dancers the opportunity of a lifetime to dance on the Hill Powers stage at the National Music Center! In Loving Memory of Don Powers

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a legendary dance, sport, and comedy dad — Don Powers.

Don was the proud father of Tammy Lynn Powers, who tragically left us almost 35 years ago. But Don was so much more than just her father — he was everyone’s dance dad. Alongside a dedicated group of parents, Don helped design and build the sets, backdrops, and props that brought our performances to life.

After the heartbreaking loss of Tammy Lynn, Don, Lois, and other devoted families came together to keep her and Jaimie Hill’s memory alive — and from that love and determination, the Tammy Lynn Powers & Jaimie Hill Memorial Foundation was born.

Don played a pivotal role in the foundation, helping us fundraise through casino nights, BBQs, golf tournaments, and more. One of the most cherished milestones was raising enough to have a theatre and stage at the National Music Centre named in honor of Tammy and Jaimie — a legacy Don was incredibly proud of.

It’s only fitting that Don’s Celebration of Life will take place mid-July on that very stage, surrounded by the love, laughter, and spirit he gave so freely.

Don — you lifted so many spirits, always had a joke ready, and made every room brighter. You will be so deeply missed, but your legacy and laughter will live on in all of us.
