June marks the start of National Indigenous History Month. A big part of being Canadian is to respect the original peoples of this land, and understand their history, traditions, and challenges.

We would like to take this moment to spotlight Planet Youth Calgary’s Indigenous Parallel and the amazing work they continue to do. Recently, Planet Youth’s IP hosted their third annual Pipe Ceremony in collaboration with John G Diefebaker High School.

The Indigenous parallel honours oral traditions, Indigenous ways of knowing and being, and of course highlights the importance of youth voice. We hope to be able to continue to learn and grow with every step we take.

We have an exciting new opportunity for Calgary Youth!! We are looking for youth to be involved in a video campaign speaking about their experiences at school!

There are 2 main ways to be involved, film yourself (and your friends) answering the PY question set or come to our in person filming days (to be announced) and let us do all the work!!

All participants will be registered for a chance to win one of our amazing prizes!

We will be revealing the question set and in-person filming days schedule soon. So keep an eye out!
