Making this Thursday a creative day! 🎨🍎👻
We kicked off the day with some spooky skeleton Q-tip art, whipped up a delicious and healthy batch of apple nachos, and wrapped up the afternoon with a special drawing lesson led by our very own crew member Josh! ✏️✨ Josh taught us how to draw some of our favourite Disney villains, bringing out everyone’s inner artist! 🦹‍♀️🎨

From getting creative to making tasty treats, there’s never a dull moment with our Rise & Shine crew! 🧡☀️

🚨 Sneak peek behind the scenes alert!! 🚨

We observed National Day for Truth and Reconciliation yesterday (although it's today!) by visiting the Buffalo Rubbing Stone in Panorama Hills. Did you know that this stone (more like a boulder!) was originally attached to the Okotoks Erratic? 🪨 The Okotoks Erratic—'Big Rock'—is significant to the Blackfoot (or Niitsitapi) peoples in that one of their traditional stories describes how the rock came to feature a large split down its middle. We used the rock's history and this story, as well as Phyllis Webstad's book, "Phyllis's Orange Shirt", to guide a talking circle discussion about Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Check out the following link for more information about 'Big Rock': https://www.alberta.ca/okotoks-erratic-big-rock

Before we go our Separate Ways this afternoon, Connor, we wanted to wish you the happiest of birthdays!! 🎊🥳🎊

You've really come into your own over these past few years, Connor, and for that, we couldn't be more proud 😊 Your ambition and humility manifest in the most amazing ways: you're always willing to lend a helping hand (to other students AND staff!) and you're constantly pushing yourself to learn and try new things. We could all learn a lesson or two from you! Keep on being your caring, compassionate, and curious self, and have the best birthday ever!! 🎉
