In Loving Memory of Visharada Dr. Nanda Malini

It is with profound sadness that the Sri Lankan Buddhist Society Calgary joins Sri Lankans around the world in mourning the passing of the legendary Visharada Dr. Nanda Malini, who passed away at the age of 82.

Dr. Nanda Malini was more than an extraordinary artist; her timeless voice touched the hearts of generations and became an enduring part of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage. Her music carried messages of love, compassion, humanity, and reflection, leaving a legacy that will live on for generations.

She also extended her kindness and support to the Sri Lankan Buddhist Society Calgary in the past, a gesture that our community remembers with deep gratitude. We will always cherish her generosity and the connection she shared with our community.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, members, and devotees of the Sri Lankan Buddhist Society Calgary, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, fellow artists, and everyone mourning this immense loss.

May the merits of all the goodness she brought into this world accompany her on her journey through Samsara.

May she attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbāna.

නිවන් සුව ලැබේවා! 🙏

KIDNEY DONOR NEEDED FOR ANTHONY 💙

The Sri Lankan Buddhist Society Calgary kindly asks our community to help share this important message.

Anthony, a Vancouver father of two young children, ages 6 and 8, is currently relying on dialysis to stay alive and is in urgent need of a kidney transplant. A living kidney donor could give Anthony the opportunity to regain his health and, most importantly, more precious time with his children and family.

🩸 Blood Type O is ideal, although other blood types may still be able to help.

Those interested in learning more about living kidney donation are encouraged to contact the Living Donor Kidney Program using the information provided in the attached poster:

📞 604-875-5182 / 1-855-875-5182

May Anthony and his family be blessed with strength and hope during this difficult time. May a suitable donor be found soon. 🙏
