• ArtsCan Cooperative for Artists ( ACFA)was born as a result of City of Calgary, Arts & Culture’s program established in 2008, called”ArtsCan; Resource for Artists new to Canada”. This program was so successful, that artists felt confident enough, to incorporate their own, independent, non for profit organization, based on COOPERATIVE model.

ted in July of 2010. Majority of artists are new to Canada, but there is also a number of Canada born artists involved.
• ACFA ‘ membership includes multidisciplinary artists
• ArtsCan is founded on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy and equality.
• The Board of Directors manages the Cooperative with the guidance of the members through the articles, by-laws and policies, and by decisions made at general meetings.
• The members of ArtsCan believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility, and caring for others. Prime Objectives:
• To be inclusive organization whose purpose is to support artists of all disciplines in the development of markets and audiences, sustainability, and professionalism, and to create cultural capital.
• ArtsCan built it’s sustainability through Social Entrepreneurship activities.
