Alberta's next generation of culinary leaders starts here. 🌿🍽️

The Youth Agri-Food Culinary Challenge is a first-of-its-kind competition hosted by . The challenge will bring together Grade 10–12 students for two days of learning, competing, and celebrating the connection between food and agriculture.

From sustainable practices to Alberta-grown ingredients, this challenge is about more than cooking. It's about connection to community, to local producers, and to what food can become in the right hands. Plus there's up to $20,000 in cash and prizes!!

Registration is open now until May 29 — only 40 spots, no experience needed.

From a little girl working with miniature horses to a 19‑year‑old, fourth‑generation Albertan farmer, Abigail Tilleman is helping feed the world and lifting others through knowledge and example. We caught up with Abigail down at Brandt Cattle Trail, where we chatted about her being the first in her family to bring in purebred Charolais Cattle and the joys of showcasing at the Calgary Stampede.

Did you know that female farmers make up just over 30% of Canada’s farming population — and that number continues to grow each year!
