Did you know human trafficking happens here in Alberta?

A common misconception is that trafficking is not prevalent in Canada, or that it involves crossing international borders. In reality, 86% of trafficking victims in Canada are Canadian. But there is a way out.

🌹RESET supports women from across Canada. Visit www.resetcalgary.ca to learn more about our programs and how you can help.

"In the short amount of time I’ve been at RESET it has given me so many gifts such as unity and sense of belonging a place to call home. In my years of addiction and exploitation I never felt worthy of recovery until I came here, my life was a never-ending dark place.

I can’t thank RESET enough for this chance at life and to truly learn to live it. Truly blessed, thank you RESET for accepting me, RESET was my way out of being exploited. I know one day everything I’ve been through will be worth something, hopefully one day I will help others. "

Last year, 52% of EXIT Program Participants identified as Indigenous. This highlights the overrepresentation of Indigenous women who are victims of trafficking.

The intergenerational impacts of trauma experienced by Indigenous people continue to put Indigenous women at risk for trafficking and violence. The true number of Indigenous victims of trafficking across Canada is unknown as many go unreported.

RESET has allowed me to heal and has started to mend my broken wings.
Throughout my life it has continuously felt like my wings were clipped. I had dreams of flying since childhood and always day dreamed of living a happy, healthy and harmoniously driven life. Although due to trauma as a child, my life became extremely confusing and I always had trouble identifying who I was and finding my life’s purpose.

When I came to RESET, it was challenging because it finally had me start addressing all the hard stuff I had been trying to supress for so long. In doing that, RESET finally gave me a real chance to start the healing process and finally start enjoying life naturally.

RESET has truly helped me mend my broken wings. I am not quite finished my work here, but with the guidance, compassion and love RESET offers, I will be flying in no time.
