Education & Wellness for Youth ‘Wymbin’ is an Australian-Aboriginal way of saying ‘Pink-Eared Duck’. And yes, this is a real thing!

Every human has something really special and unique about them. And every kid is exploring and discovering WHO they are and what makes them STAND OUT. Sometimes its an unexpected quirk. When you think of a pink eared duck, you imagine quite an ordinary duck, with quite extraordinary pink ears…

There’s something special about everyone. Our mission is to bring that out for everyone, to find the coolest thing about EVERY kid and let them SHINE!

This week of camp, we’re packing more than lunch kits and water bottles.

For STEM Explorers, children are encouraged to bring:

1. Curiosity to explore
2. Big questions to investigate
3. Problem-solving skills to put to the test
4. Imagination to dream up new ideas
5. A willingness to experiment, create, and discover

From hands-on experiments to building, connecting, and exploring, this camp is all about following ideas, testing theories, and learning through play.

We are so excited to have Serava Minds joining us at Move for Mental Health tomorrow!

Created by an inspiring teen entrepreneur, Serava Minds offers self-growth journals designed to support reflection, confidence, emotional wellness, and personal growth. What makes this story even more special is that this young leader recently stood up at our sister company Fledge’s Youth Panel in Banff this past April and shared such beautiful wisdom about youth mental health, education spaces, and the importance of creating environments where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

It was a reminder that leadership has no age requirement. Young voices matter. Young people are capable of creating real impact in their communities, and Serava Minds is such a meaningful example of that.

Tomorrow is about coming together as a community to explore different mental health initiatives, resources, supports, and conversations that help make a difference. We encourage everyone to come browse the booths, connect with local organizations and businesses, and learn about the many ways we can support mental wellness for all ages.

This year, when our Wymbin and Fledge teams came together to think about who we wanted to support in our community, it felt important to give back to an initiative that’s close to home—one that is supporting kids right here in Alberta.

That’s why we chose Ever Active.

Their work is all about helping children and youth build healthy, active lives—something we deeply believe in.

As we recognize Mental Health Week, we’re reminded that it truly takes a community. When we come together, we can create spaces where kids feel supported, confident, and cared for.

Let’s show up, support one another, and be part of something meaningful.
