To the Honourable ____:
You have been chosen by the people in Canada to govern, to protect, and uphold the values of freedom, democracy, and equality. The attack on the Hanukkah celebration at Bondi beach in Sydney Australia is one that can easily be globalized to Canada inasmuch as it has been there. Anti-Semitic events that have occurred in Montreal, Toronto, Mississauga, Vancouver, never mind what has been allowed by your colleagues to flourish and fester on campuses and espoused by academics, on the streets of our cities has shown considerable evidence that Canada is ripe for the taking.
We, the Jewish people of Canada, are witnessing the failure of our state (amongst other Western states) to adequately respond to Islamic terror. Not only has Islamic terror infiltrated UN education and political networks that Canada subscribes to, but we have read reports, for example, by Canadian senate committees discussing radical Islamic terror infiltrating intelligence and policing institutions here in Canada! Education, policing, and politics have become vectors of this contagion and it needs to be taken seriously now.
Islamist, Islamic supremacy, radicals - whatever you may wish to call them - are using language of freedom, democracy, and equality against us. They are hijacking these values to make fools of our ways. Now is the time to crack down on these ideologies that are directed at Canadian / Western civilization’s usurpation.
Rest assured, that the present global strife espoused in mass protests is not about specific events in Israel. Most barely understand the slogans they sling. Those who do understand would hardly hurl themselves into protest forvictims of other atrocities where Jews are not involved. However, be assured that the present strife is the deployment of a documented multi-decade Islamist plan to adopt whatever ideological terms that have cache at its disposal and opportune current affairs to undo the legitimacy of Israel and Western civilization. Therefore, even if the conflagration in the Middle East continues its subdued trajectory, the Islamist ideology will nonetheless continue to radiate its heat awaiting the next opportunity to be set ablaze. This is how a dragon’s ideology works. The quiet does not mean it stops radiating - and so neither must your work abate to putting out the embers of hate.
A famous post-WWII philosopher said the paradox of a tolerant society is that is must become intolerant to intolerance itself. Therefore, name it, speak it, and act against it. If you cannot identify a pattern of violence around the world and Canada, nor name the perpetrators, then you are unable to address this issue and cannot tell light from darkness. However, if you can name it, and if you can speak it clearly and publicly, thereby amplifying the call, then your success in awakening Canadian society will cause the enlightenment of a shared culture and mutually celebrated identities to flourish.
Each nation has a purpose - a light to shed. We are a people chosen to spread one form of light, and others spread their own light. This includes the moderate and progressive Canada-loving Muslims who are themselves scared of radical islamists. Fighting this contagion protects them too. We, the Jewish people, will continue to celebrate who we are. You, as elected official, are the chosen person to protect it.
Jewish people have been confronted with hate and violence like this in the past. When hate spread, we left our lands and moved abroad. If these Islamic terror threats and Islamist ideologies are not adequately addressed, the result will be that Canadian Jewry will leave and you will be left dealing with the problem of whoever #2 is on the list of Islamic terror’s targets.
