On Wednesday, our crew went out to Sharples Creek, AB to perform a Westslope Cutthroat redd survey!

While we didn’t see too many redds, we did see lots of flowers, critters, and beautiful landscapes🍃

This is your sign to get outside this weekend!

⭐️EVENT RECAP⭐️

Last week our crew, headed up to the reclamation sites on Radiant and Elk Creek for some monitoring camera installation and willow staking! With the help from volunteers, we harvested and planted willow and poplar stakes along the banks of Radiant Creek. This work is part of a multiyear reclamation project that will help strengthen the creek banks, provide shade, and improve habitat conditions for native Bull Trout in Alberta!

🐟 Join us for our next Willow Staking event next week on June 4 at Waiparous Creek!

Today is World Fish Migration Day 🐟

🌊 This year’s theme, We Are River People, highlights how free-flowing rivers are essential for biodiversity, climate resilience, and human well-being.

🐟 When barriers like dams and culverts disrupt fish migration, entire ecosystems are affected. Restoring river connectivity helps both fish and people thrive.

🫧 Healthy rivers connect us all. Protecting them means protecting the species, communities, and future generations that depend on them.
