The Yakthung Chumlung Association of Calgary is a community organization that represents the Limbu or Yakthung people living in the city of Calgary. The Limbu or Yakthung people are a Sino-Tibetan indigenous ethnic group from the Himalayan region of eastern Nepal, India, and western Bhutan. The Limbu people have their own unique language, culture, and religion. The Yakthung Chumlung Association of

Calgary serves as a hub for the Limbu or Yakthung community in Calgary, providing a range of social, cultural, and educational services to its members. The association works to preserve and promote the unique ethno-linguistic traditions of the Limbu or Yakthung people, while also supporting the integration and participation of its members in the broader Calgary community. The Yakthung Chumlung Association of Calgary is an important resource for the Limbu or Yakthung community in Calgary, and is dedicated to building a strong and vibrant community for its members.

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Chasok Tangnam celebration hosted by Yakthung Chumlung Association of Calgary (YCAC), a sacred harvest festival of the Limbu community, honouring nature, our ancestors, and cultural heritage while strengthening unity and tradition.

Date: Saturday, December 13, 2025
Time: From 5:00 PM onwards
Venue: Renfrew Community Association
Ticket: $25 per person

There will be:

Cultural performances
Traditional Limbu music and dance
Delicious food
Fun for all ages
