"It’s a great honour to represent Canada at the World Photographic Cup for the third time. Each year attracts new, extremely talented artists, making this stage even more coveted, which pushes me to grow as a photographer, " says Manpreet Sokhi who was 10th in the world and went on stage to represent Canada in Reykjavik, Iceland.

I am so proud to have been a part of Team Canada three times but this year to have my image be selected as one of the top in the world is extra special. I am grateful and honoured.

"Being part of Team Canada is more than representing a nation—it’s standing shoulder to shoulder with storytellers who see the world not as it is, but as it could be. Together, we turn light into legacy, using our craft to remind humanity of all that’s worth fighting for. I’m deeply grateful to be among these remarkable artists, and humbled to stand in a circle where passion, purpose, and pride unite, to represent this incredible nation of ours." Jacquie Matechuk earns yet another top world finish at the World Photographic Cup which she attended in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Another Gold Medal for Michelle Valberg Photography! “I am excited and honoured to represent Canada at the World Photographic Cup. Standing together as a team with extraordinarily talented photographers, each of us bringing our own vision and voice, is both humbling and powerful. It is about shared effort, shared pride, and carrying our country into the global conversation of photography.”

I am honoured to win the gold medal. To be in Iceland to receive it with Team Canada was even more special because my grandparents were born here.

Canadian cheers echoed through the auditorium in Reykjavik, Iceland. Team Canada members in attendance exchanged high-fives, and waved the flag in shared jubilation as seven of Team Canada’s images received top honours.

One GOLD medal for Michelle Valberg Photography, one BRONZE medal for Geoff Gabriel and 5 Top 10 finishes!

Every victory is a collective triumph for WPC Team Canada, which placed 6th in the World Photographic Cup competition.

It's the podium finish that everyone dreams of, not just for personal glory but to hoist the Canadian flag. And that’s just what two Canadian photographers did at the World Photographic Cup awards ceremony on April 25th in Reykjavik, Iceland.
