Sometimes, a little help can make a big difference!

Think of someone in your community who might need a hand getting to the polls.

Here's how you can help:

🚗 Offer a ride or help them plan transportation.

👶 Watch their kids, help care for an older family member, or look after their pets while they vote.

🗣️ Help someone who has difficulty reading or understanding voting instructions. Elections Alberta provides voting guides in 27 languages and assistance for people who need help reading or marking their ballots.

📍 Help them find their voting location, check ID requirements, or make a voting plan.

♿ Help someone find accessible voting options. Did you know that curbside voting is available for people who cannot enter a voting place due to a disability? The person providing transportation can notify the Site Supervisor inside to request assistance.

⏰ Even taking care of a small task or giving someone a little extra time could make a difference!

Remember: Helping someone vote means supporting their right to make their own choice.

Faith leaders across Alberta are adding their voices to the conversation ahead of the October 19 referendum, calling on Albertans to reflect on human dignity, care for vulnerable people, welcome our neighbours, and the common good.

Today, CityNews spoke with Rev. Ryan Andersen, Lead Organizer with the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good, about why faith leaders are speaking out at this important moment for our province.
This is not about telling people how to vote. It is about asking all of us to consider what kind of community we want to build together, and how the choices we make affect our neighbours.
