Hillhurst United Church

Hillhurst United Church Whoever you are, wherever you're at, join us on the journey. Sunday Service is at 10:00 am MT. The 10:00 am service is live-streamed on YouTube.

Based on Treaty 7 land in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we’re a progressive Christian community that values diversity. Our Sunday gatherings are relaxed and inviting, blending the relevant spiritual issues of the day with reflections rooted in scripture. Using humour, story, and an invitation to question, we journey to discover the message the Spirit has for us, both individually and as a community. J

oin us in-person on Sundays at 9:05 am or 10:45 am. The 9:05 service is live-streamed online via our YouTube channel which you can join live at 9:05 am MT or watch anytime afterward! Our core values are: radical hospitality, spirituality, and social justice, all grounded in risk. Hillhurst United is an Affirming church. What does that mean? An Affirming church is an official designation in the United Church of Canada, publicly declaring commitment to inclusion and justice for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, race, ethnicity, ability, age, religion, or economic status. Our Affirming Statement: We are an inclusive and supportive community of faith that follows in the Way of Jesus. We welcome the ministry and participation of all persons regardless of age, gender identity, health, race, sexual orientation, differing abilities, religious or ethnic background or economic circumstance. We hope that in all we do, God's unconditional love is experienced. Learn more at www.hillhurstunited.com

It was a beautiful sunny spring day at Hillhurst United this week. Jess Andrews from Campus United shared an update on the ministry’s work, including their new Dungeons & Dragons events that are helping build community and connection among students and young adults.

A special thank you to Reverend Tony Snow, Indigenous Minister for the Chinook Winds Region of The United Church of Canada, for sharing an inspiring sermon. The choir filled the sanctuary with wonderful music, and it was a delight to welcome former staff member Sarah Elliott, who shared her exceptional musical talents with a beautiful solo performance.

All in all, it was a wonderful Sunday. Whether it's Sunday worship or one of the many programs offered throughout the week, Hillhurst United looks forward to welcoming you and helping you find connection, community, and belonging.

Calling all Stampede dreamers and doers.

Help is needed to plan this year’s Stampede Service & Lunch on July 5.

Support is needed for brainstorming ideas shaping the theme and helping coordinate the details that bring the event together. Anyone who enjoys creative planning and community building is encouraged to take part in the planning process.

If you’re more of a hands-on doer that’s great too there will be plenty to do on the day itself.

Interested in getting involved? Reach out to Amanda at [email protected].
