Based on Treaty 7 land in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we’re a progressive Christian community that values diversity. Our Sunday gatherings are relaxed and inviting, blending the relevant spiritual issues of the day with reflections rooted in scripture. Using humour, story, and an invitation to question, we journey to discover the message the Spirit has for us, both individually and as a community. J

oin us in-person on Sundays at 9:05 am or 10:45 am. The 9:05 service is live-streamed online via our YouTube channel which you can join live at 9:05 am MT or watch anytime afterward! Our core values are: radical hospitality, spirituality, and social justice, all grounded in risk. Hillhurst United is an Affirming church. What does that mean? An Affirming church is an official designation in the United Church of Canada, publicly declaring commitment to inclusion and justice for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, race, ethnicity, ability, age, religion, or economic status. Our Affirming Statement: We are an inclusive and supportive community of faith that follows in the Way of Jesus. We welcome the ministry and participation of all persons regardless of age, gender identity, health, race, sexual orientation, differing abilities, religious or ethnic background or economic circumstance. We hope that in all we do, God's unconditional love is experienced. Learn more at www.hillhurstunited.com

Join us for a meaningful day of learning, reflection, and connection at one of the most significant Indigenous historical sites in Southern Alberta.

On Tuesday, July 14, the Hillhurst United Right Relations Group invites you to join us for a day trip to Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, the National Historic Site where Treaty 7 was signed in 1877.

Located on Siksika Nation, Blackfoot Crossing offers a unique opportunity to learn about Blackfoot history, culture, and the significance of this sacred gathering place. Together, we will explore the museum, visit the historic site, and enjoy a picnic lunch while deepening our understanding of the stories, traditions, and relationships connected to this land.

Whether you are beginning your journey of learning or seeking to deepen your knowledge, this promises to be a meaningful and enriching experience.

The site is approximately 90 minutes from Calgary, and carpooling will be arranged to help everyone participate.

Admission:
Adults: $22 + GST
Seniors: $14 + GST
(Payable at the door)

Please register in advance so we can coordinate transportation and share trip details. When signing up, let us know if you can offer a ride (and how many passengers you can take) or if you will need a ride.

This Saturday, New Monastics Saturdays at Living Spirit Centre offer a fresh perspective on spirituality and the Sacred.

Join in at Living Spirit Centre, 629 49 Ave SW from 1:00–4:00 p.m. for Rewilding Spirituality, an afternoon of reflection, conversation, and contemplative practice led by Liz Rees. Together, participants will explore nature as a primary revelation of the Sacred, drawing on the wisdom of Thomas Berry and Bill Plotkin.

Through eco-depth practices, shared reflection, and Centering Prayer, this gathering invites a deeper connection with the living world and a renewed sense of belonging within it.

This will be the final gathering before the summer break, with monthly sessions resuming in September.

Everyone is welcome.
