“Many people think of Cadets as preparation fo

r a career in the military, but it is really about preparing for life; about developing the skills, the qualities and the confidence that will allow these young people to prosper and contribute to the Canada of tomorrow.”

On November 27th 2025 we were very happy to promote 4 new Chief Petty Officer Second Classes.

These CPO2s will serve as the Watch Chiefs for Watches 1 - 4.  They will be in charge of ensuring their watch is meeting training standards, that they are performing well in regards to drill and dress, and they will also ensure that all members of their watch are informed about upcoming events. The Watch Chiefs are a critical component of our new redesign of the previous system that required Departmental Chiefs to serve both roles, this allows for Departmental Chiefs and Watch Chiefs to succeed in their roles and help the corps run smoothly.

The new CPO2s are:
CPO2 Tan
CPO2 Shaurn
CPO2 Newell T.
CPO2 Ram L.

Bravo Zulu to all the new CPO2s! We can’t wait to see what you do for 335!

On Thursday November 6th, cadets from RCSCC CALGARY had the opportunity to participate in a Sunset Ceremony at the Field of Crosses. Cadets gathered in the act of remembrance, reflecting on those who have fought for the freedom that we have today, for the countless soldiers who fought with allied forces in the First and Second World Wars, as well as the other soldiers who fought and continue to fight to protect our values and our freedom in past and present conflicts. The Field of Crosses displays over 3800 crosses every November, they carry the names of soldiers from Southern Alberta who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom.

After the Sunset Ceremony was completed, cadets had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, “The Field of Crosses and Valour Canada have collaborated to create a youth program  called “Classroom At The Crosses”  for school classes. The program consists of a guided tour through the Field of Crosses and some classroom time where the students will learn about Vimy Ridge and have an opportunity to handle artifacts.” Cadets look forward to these activities every year and are always interested in learning about the history and importance of Remembrance Day.
