The International Business Students’ Association (IBSA) aims to engage undergraduate students in Haskayne and beyond to expand their limits and go global.

In today’s globalized economic environment, it is important to have a diversified mindset that can adapt to different cultures and experiences. The International Business Students’ Association (IBSA) aims to engage undergraduate students in Haskayne and beyond to expand their limits and go global with their degrees. Not only do we aid students in their journey of going abroad, we also seek to prov

ide a very important service to the international commerce students coming into Calgary. The IBSA Buddy Program addresses the trauma of unfamiliarity with a new culture and environment by partnering international students with domestic buddies who are responsible for making them feel welcome to their new home(s) for the semester. On top of this, IBSA values the professional development that globalized experiences comes with. We hope to increase awareness of our opportunities by working with corporations that value leadership and diversity to host meaningful events that showcase the value of international experience.

The International Business Students' Association is hosting a virtual speed networking event. This event will allow Haskayne students to gain insights into different career paths and future career opportunities. IBSA has invited 6 professionals working at multinational companies to share their knowledge and advice about their industry. In breakout rooms, students and company representatives can build a rapport in a small and intimate group setting. Students will have an opportunity to connect with each professional as they move around to different break-out rooms. To end the night, there will be an open networking session for additional time to develop a stronger connection and continue their conversation.

The International Business Student's Association presents its annual Study Aboard Night. This year, the event will be held virtually through Zoom where a panel of 3-4 students who have partaken in the study abroad program in previous years share their international journey and the steps taken to get there. Students will have an opportunity to hear the speaker's personal stories, learn the benefits of internationalizing one's studies, and ask questions.
