This is the official page of the biggest cultural festival representing the Filipino Canadian community in Alberta. The FilCan community of this province will finally be able to come together and celebrate

our heritage as a united group. In addition, this is the space to share our beautiful and colourful heritage to every Canadian.

Nasaan — a Filipino immigrant story told through music, memory, and the love of a Lola.

Living as Canadian immigrants, an aging Filipino composer attempts to connect with her
grandson through her own music. Inspired by writer Lance De los Santos’ true experience with
his Lola and brother, Nasaan is built on the stories of the Filipino diaspora — each different in its
own way, yet shared among all.

We’re excited to welcome Bell Studio, also the home of National Music Center, as our newest partner and venue for the next edition of SineMa. This collaboration marks an exciting step forward as we continue to celebrate Filipino storytelling, cinema, and community.
