Just a friendly reminder from your BRCA Tree Team that your trees need your love to weather our unpredictable Calgary winter. Please water them well prior to freeze up, which may start this weekend. Evergreen trees and shrubs are the most vulnerable, especially if they were planted in the last 2-3 years. Slow soaking around the drip line is the best approach, but if you just have a bucket, it's fine to use that. If you have City trees (evergreen or deciduous) in front of your property and they were looking dry this fall, watering them now will help them survive the winter too.

They recommend doubling the usual watering before the deep frost comes. We will also have outdoor watering restrictions coming in November, so no chance to water the trees then if the dryness persists.

Good afternoon Bridgelanders! Our friends in Inglewood have asked us to share some important information with you.

You may have recently heard that the City has extended the hours for the Inglewood Aquatic Center. With those extended hours, we have 9 months from Oct. 1 to increase the usage to target levels. We appreciate the increased hours, but are concerned the current programs offered do not sufficiently address the needs of the local and broader Calgary swimming communities.

Below is a link to a survey to gather input about current and desired usage of the Inglewood Aquatic Center. Our intent is to use this information for conversations with City staff towards future program and scheduling changes. There are no guarantees that any specific changes will be made, but this will give us a better understanding of what people want.
