Bridgeland Riverside Community Association Bridgeland-Riverside is an inner-city community located on the north side of the Bow River just northeast of downtown Calgary, Alberta.

This is the official page of the Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association. The community boundaries are defined by a commercial development along Edmonton Trail NE on its western edge, a 20 meter escarpment to the north, Tom Campbell's Hill to the east and the Bow River and Memorial Drive NE to the south.

Come join our Tree Ambassador team and help plant a mini forest in Helen’s Garden!

When: Friday, June 12 at 5:00 pm

Registration begins at 4:30 pm with the safety orientation and planting to follow at 5:00 pm. The planting should take approximately 1.5 hours

Where: Helen’s Garden Park
315 Santa Maria Gardens NE
(South of Bishops Manor and East of the CNIB Garden)

About the event:

A mini forest planting event hosted in partnership with the City of Calgary. A mini forest is a variety of small tree species and shrubs planted in a small space to increase biodiversity, improve air quality, and provide shade and beauty to all visitors.

What to expect: The City will dig the holes for the plants and provide gloves, shovels, and a safety orientation. Volunteers will be planting small trees.

Please be aware of road closures for the Calgary Marathon this weekend. The roads will open around 9am.

For those needing to enter the south side of the community (south of 1st Ave), it is recommended you use Deerfoot to Memorial westbound to 9th St. entrance.

For those south of 1st Ave needing to exit the community, the following options are recommended- exit Bridgeland at the 9 St / Memorial Dr exit, and use the 4 Ave flyover into downtown. From there, find your way west, or you can do a left on Macleod Trail, a left on 5 Ave, and can exit downtown to the east via Memorial Dr.

Our friends at the Bridgeland BIA are once again hosting a Calgary Marathon Cheer station on Sunday May 24 from 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Piazza.

Drop by and say hello. Grab a coffee, hot chocolate, and a cookie. And cheer on the runners as they pass through our community.

As a special bonus, the first 100 kids who dress up in costumes will receive a $10 gift card for a local ice cream store. What's not to love!!!
