Scout Trip Day 18/16 (Aug 4): Our next bonus adventure took us even further back in time to visit the Tower of London. We saw the Crown Jewels (not pictured due to photography restrictions), got a tour from a Beefeater, and explored the battlements. It was really strange standing in a centuries old castle with modern skyscrapers in the background. We had to go a tad further for dinner this time, almost an entire block, to get some gigantic pizzas.

Scout Trip Day 17/16 (Aug 3): While we waited for our new flights, we also found some additional things to see and do because , they don't just sit around for days waiting on a flight. Our first bonus adventure was a visit to the HMS Belfast for a look at what life on a British Navy Cruiser was like. We got to explore the cruiser from the boilers, engine room and shell loading below to the gun turrets, flag deck, and bridge above. We even met a man who served on the Belfast during the Korean War. We then capped off the day at a nice Italian restaurant located conveniently across the street from our Airbnb.

Trip Day 16 / 16? (Aug 2): This was meant to be the last day of our trip, with 7 of us heading home to Calgary while others went on to other trips.. We were all set to wake up and head to the airport to catch our flight home. Instead we woke up to 6 rescheduled tickets (routed through Mexico and the USA) and 1 Scouter with no ticket at all. We tried to make the best of the delay and visited the Natural History Museum while those at home tried to sort out the flights, but it soon became apparent that they were not getting anywhere, so, with the rebooked flight mere hours away, and still no clear path to getting our group's tickets realigned, we headed to the airport to look for help. While waiting to speak to the Mexican airline, we received an update: we had once again been rebooked (still not all together) days later. While everyone wanted to get home, there was a huge relief in avoiding the 27hour milk run and having more time to try and sort things out. We felt further relief once we were able to book a place to stay. Before leaving the airport, we had an impromptu dance party to celebrate this relief.

Our jamboree e perience was capped off with the closing ceremonies in the evening.

Trip Day 13 / WINGS Day 6 (July 30): we spent the morning at the Bard's Guild where the Scouts worked on their circus tricks (with varying degrees of success) and a couple of our Scouters did some drumming. Then our scouts had to survive the Survivalist Guild which included a cave bus, fish prep, and archery.

Trip Day 12 / WINGS Day 5 (July 29): wheelwrights Guild in the morning had us doing all sorts of wheeled activities including unicycles, wheelchair basketball, and life-size hungry hungry hippos. The in the afternoon it was off to the Artisans Guild for arts and crafts, and apparently weapons building for the scouts planned invasion of Wessex. Finally, RIP to Scouter Kim's chair which lasted for half the jamboree (though some brave youth are still happy to sit on its co**se.
