🇨🇦 UNA is encouraging nurses to vote on October 19 for Option 1 for Alberta to remain in Canada ✅ All Albertans, including UNA members, are legally allowed time off on the referendum day to cast your ballot, but if you don't want to wait in line to vote on October 19, you can request a Special Ballot from Elections Alberta to mail-in ahead of referendum day.

The last day to apply for a special ballot package is Friday, October 9 at midnight.

1. Bill 11 establishes an unprecedented model of two-tiered health care access in Alberta by allowing physicians to work in both the public and private systems concurrently.

2. Bill 11 creates Canada’s first private insurance market for medically necessary care, which will drive up health care costs.

3. Privatization inevitably costs patients and governments more money than a single public health care system does.
