From our youngest athletes to our coaches and families, it was amazing to have the entire club together at the Surge home opener cheering loud, celebrating the game, and creating memories together. Nights like these remind us that basketball is about more than just the game — it’s about community, passion, and inspiring the next generation.

A huge thank you to the Calgary Surge for an incredible atmosphere and experience for our athletes. Seeing our players light up in that environment was truly special! 🔥

Big thanks to Steve and Howie from SAIT for bringing incredible energy, leadership, and knowledge to our athletes. The gym was filled with learning, motivation, and positive vibes from start to finish.

Experiences like these inspire our players to keep growing, competing, and believing in themselves. We truly appreciate you both taking the time to invest in our program and our athletes!

What a weekend at the Prime Time Alberta Basketball Festival!
Our U17 squad battled hard all tournament long, finishing with a strong 2-1 record to bring home SECOND PLACE in the High School Division! 💪🏀

What an incredible Wednesday night at Outwest Basketball! 🏀

A huge thank you to Sidney Dobner and TJ for joining our group practice and sharing their knowledge, energy, and passion for the game with our athletes. The experience made a lasting impact on everyone in the gym!

Sidney currently serves as an Assistant Coach with the Calgary Surge and brings experience from the NBA, WNBA, G League, and CEBL — including championship seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks and Stockton Kings. She also made history as the Bucks’ first female assistant coach and most recently served as Head Video Coordinator for the inaugural season of the Golden State Valkyries.

🔥 Special Guest Coach at Outwest Basketball 🔥

We were incredibly fortunate to welcome Coach Robyn Fleckenstein from MRU to our Wednesday night practice! 🏀
Coach Robyn brought amazing energy, high-level teaching, and a true passion for developing athletes both on and off the court.

Our players were fully engaged, challenged, and inspired throughout the session — and they absolutely loved every minute of it.

Experiences like this are what Outwest Basketball is all about: creating opportunities for athletes to learn from outstanding coaches and continue growing their confidence, skills, and love for the game.

Big congratulations to our U11 Blue Team standouts — Alice, Adrielle & Scarlett — for their amazing effort and energy at the CMBA Spring League 1st Tournament! 💙🧡

This team had an incredible weekend, finishing with a strong 2 wins and 1 loss record! 💪🏆 The girls showed determination, teamwork, and confidence every time they hit the floor, continuing to grow together with every game.

Alice, Adrielle & Scarlett earned Hustlers of the Game honours for their nonstop hustle, positive attitudes, strong defense, and willingness to do all the little things that help a team succeed. From chasing loose balls to encouraging teammates, they brought the OutWest spirit all tournament long! 🌟🏀

Shoutout to our U11 Orange Team hustlers — Leni, Maria & Ayvah — for bringing nonstop energy, determination, and heart to the court at the CMBA Spring League 1st Tournament! 💙🧡

This group competed hard all weekend, finishing the tournament with 1 win and 2 tough battles. Every game was a chance to learn, grow, and show what OutWest Basketball is all about — teamwork, resilience, and hustle! 💪🏀

Leni, Maria & Ayvah stood out with their effort, positive attitudes, defensive intensity, and never-give-up mentality. Whether diving for loose balls, cheering on teammates, or pushing through every play, they represented OutWest with pride! 🌟
