Kimball Yorston continues our series, as our twentythird spotlight!

"ALS may be a chapter in my book of life, but it is not the title of it. The focus now is sharing my experiences with my support network. We will be taking a family trip this summer to Japan and Thailand, with a simple goal: making memories and sharing in the most valuable asset, time... "

Meet Jennifer Leggett, spotlight #14, and Wainwright Side by Side for ALS Ambassador!

"Early in 2026 I began to need a full Hoyer lift, and I am still able to move around and go places with my electric wheelchair, and the ALS Society of Alberta has provided all of this equipment for free. This is why Side by Side for ALS is so important, because the funds raised allow the ALS Society of Alberta to purchase and maintain equipment for their loan program, which allows people like me to improve the way they live with this horrible disease..."

Randy Lomas kicks off the seventeenth day of our series!

"I know it is cliché, but my message to everybody is to live like this is your last day, because it could be. I am trying to see past ALS and do the things I always wanted to do. It is getting harder to travel but since my diagnosis, I have made it to Alaska, Yankee Stadium in New York, Ireland, and 2 months in Mexico. The goal is for 3 months this winter. I am thankful that I was brought up by parents with strong religious beliefs..."

Tara Wasylyshyn kicks off our sixteenth spotlight!

"In October, Matt and my Mom joined me for my first all-day meeting with my ALS team. It was so overwhelming. They came and went with different advice for the different ailments that are part of this disease. Then they suggested that I contact the ALS Society of Alberta. They said that they "help" people in my state."
