People of Colour Employment Awareness Month (PEAM) is a bold initiative by , MBA and ICC.

It is an annual month of May initiative in Canada, designed to engage employers, policymakers, service providers, and People of Color, in an effort to address employment disparities, workplace hurdles, and entrepreneurship challenges.

Thank you Mayor Jeromy Farkas for recognizing the systemic unemployment disparities that People of Colour are facing today.

We are committed to bringing awareness on state of employment in Canada.

Immigrant Champions of Canada’s four employment awareness months namely Women Youth, People of Colour andBlack are national initiatives designed to address employment inequalities and improve inclusion in the Canadian workforce as supported by the Employment Equity Act, Accessible Canada Act, Canadian Human Rights Act, Canadian Multiculturalism Act and the Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) Mandate

The Employment Awareness Months aims to:
✅ Raise awareness of employment inequities and systemic barriers

🟢 Promote inclusive hiring and bias-free workplace practices

🟩 Improve representation in leadership and high-growth sectors

❇️ Support career development for underrepresented groups

✅ Encourage entrepreneurship and access to funding/resources

🟢 Strengthen connections between job seekers, employers, and policymakers

🟩 Advocate for equitable policies and workplace reforms

❇️ Promote workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in Canadian workplaces
