Heartfelt congratulations to our wonderful faculty member Rita McKeough!❤️‍🔥

Rita McKeough (Associate Professor, Media Arts) has been awarded the 2024 Gershon Iskowitz Prize, one of Canada’s top honours in contemporary visual art. The annual award recognizes artists who’ve made an outstanding impact on visual arts in Canada.

A key figure in Calgary’s arts community since the late 1970s, Rita is known for her powerful interdisciplinary work that blends sound, performance, sculpture and installation — often exploring feminist ideas, activism, care and social responsibility.

Huge congratulations to Rita on this national recognition!
