Dear Members of the Tuscany Community,

Since 2014, we have been fortunate to receive funding from the Tuscany Community Association (TCA) to support a Youth Council right here in our community. This long-running, volunteer-led group brings together youth in Grades 6–12 a couple of times a month to enjoy fun social activities while also giving back through meaningful volunteer work.

We are currently seeking adult volunteers who are interested in helping keep this valuable community program running. Our current volunteer organizers will be finishing their roles in June 2026, and we are hoping to welcome new adults who would like to get involved, learn about the program, and potentially take on a lead role starting in September 2026.

Between now and June, interested adults are invited to attend meetings with no commitment required—just come along and see what the group is all about.

Over the years, the Youth Council has been involved in many community and city-wide initiatives, including:
- Painting seasonal windows at Sobeys and the Tuscany Club
- Community litter clean-ups
- Volunteering at Tuscany Club events, including the Tuscany Colour Run
- Organizing and running food drives, clothing drives & swaps, and pet drives for the Calgary Humane Society
- Volunteering at the Calgary Food Bank

If you have a young person in Grades 6–12 who may be interested in joining the Youth Council, please note that adult volunteers are essential to keeping this program going.

May 13 – Humane Society pet drive
May 27 – Sports night
June 10 – End-of-year party

Our first meeting of the year is at 7pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. We are meeting downstairs at the Tuscany Club. All Grade 6-12 Tuscany students are welcome along with their parents/caregivers for a ‘party’ and planning meeting. Don’t forget to bring your Food Bank donations to the Tuscany Colour Carnival on Sunday, June 29th! All donations can be dropped off at the Main Tent — just look for the Tuscany Youth Council feather flags!

Last year, thanks to YOU, we donated over 400 lbs of food to those in need. This year, let’s raise the bar even higher! 💪
