The [Electronic Recycling Association (ERA)](https://www.era.ca/) is a Canadian non-profit organization founded in 2004 dedicated to reducing electronic waste (e-waste) and bridging the digital divide. The organization specializes in managing the retiring IT assets of individuals and corporations across Canada by prioritizing a "reuse before recycling" philosophy.

* Collection: Operating accessible drop-off depots and offering corporate pickup services across major Canadian cities like Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver.
* Data Security: Providing [industry-leading data destruction](https://www.era.ca/how-it-works/), including secure hard drive wiping and physical shredding, to ensure donor privacy compliance.
* Refurbishment: Repairing and upgrading usable electronics—such as computers, laptops, and servers—to extend their lifecycle.
* Community Donation: Donating the refurbished equipment to local charities, schools, care facilities, and low-income families in need.
* Responsible Recycling: Partnering with certified recyclers to safely process unusable devices, preventing toxic heavy metals from contaminating landfills.
