✍️ Volunteers Needed at Friends of Medicare Townhalls!

We collected 3 full pages of petition signatures at today’s Friends of Medicare in Calgary. These townhalls are full of people who care deeply about public health care, and it’s the perfect place to gather support for LPNs.

We need volunteers to help collect pen‑to‑paper signatures at upcoming townhalls across Alberta.

What you’ll do:
• Arrive 30 minutes early
• Chat with attendees as they settle in
• Gather signatures that strengthen our advocacy

Next townhall: Airdrie - TOMORROW (Sunday, January 25 at 1400)

Nursing is dangerous — and Alberta’s latest assault proves it.

A health‑care worker at Alberta Hospital Edmonton was violently attacked on Christmas Day. Two patients. Serious injuries.

This isn’t “rare.”
This is our reality.

Nurses face violence every single day with little protection, little support, and even less accountability from the system meant to keep us safe.

Violence is not part of the job.
We deserve safety.
We deserve protection.
We deserve better.

There are some rumors of AHS being sued for $60 millions for not respecting the ESA. We messaged Kate Robinson, lead negotiator, for clarification. You can read her response here. Those are false rumors.

📣 Bargaining is over, but the wage gap remains. Alberta’s LPNs carry the largest scope of practice in Canada, yet we’re classified as auxiliary. The system is built to keep us there.
