Wonder what our young warriors do when they go for a check up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada? Today’s your lucky day! It was our Princess Warrior’s first checkup of the year.

We got started with bloodwork, then her breathing test. These appointments take a few hours so we stopped for lunch, and we were totally surprised to see Jamaican Patties in the hospital cafeteria!! She gave it 4 stars 😅.

Then she had a TCD scan and saw the team…nurses, pharmacists, Respiratory Specialist, and finally the Hematologist, who went over all the results.

Our Princess is doing great!!

Our first Sickle Cell Impact Night was a success!

We had good conversations, great food, and wonderful company! We may have been a small group, but like they say in Jamaica, every mikkle makes a mukkle. This is just the start of something that will get bigger each year.

Syd worked with us to create an amazing painting. We tried to incorporate symbols that are meaningful to our work and community. We love the end result!
