Welcome to The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland, formerly Fort Calgary. Located where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet, The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland, is a place of Indigenous gathering and ceremony steeped in thousands of years of tradition and history. Fort Calgary was built on the land at The Confluence in 1875 by the North-West Mounted Police. The land is home to many complex stories that span thousands of years. The Confluence, through meaningful programming, strives to tell accurate stories rooted in this land from a variety of perspectives. Offerings include exhibits, talks, tours, workshops, youth education programs, summer camps, movies, art shows, concerts, festivals and venue rentals for social and corporate events. Our next PD Day Camp is on Monday, Oct. 19! 😱

With a brand new lineup of themes for campers to explore, we're excited to welcome students from 1-6 to learn through activities, crafts and fun!

This month, join us for a frightfully fun day of Halloween adventure! Campers will have plenty of fun, with just the right amount of creepy, sprinkled into this Halloween celebration! 🎃👻

If you've visited The Confluence recently, you might've noticed a new addition to our temporary exhibits!

Iniskim, Return of the Buffalo is an immersive puppet-lantern performance experience created to celebrate the buffalo returning to the wild of Banff National Park in 2017. 🦬

This exhibit, produced by the Canadian Academy of Mask and Puppetry in partnership with the International Buffalo Relations Institute , is an intercultural project created and performed by artists and Knowledge Keepers, with Elder guidance from members of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Iyarhe Nakoda First Nation and Treaty 7 Relatives of European ancestry.

Iniskim: Return of the Buffalo will be available for viewing at The Confluence Cultural Centre until December 2026.

Bison Days has officially come to close, and we are so grateful for everyone who showed up and made this event series possible.

Yesterday, we were so happy to see that we raised over $2,200 towards The Wandering Spirit, a permanent residential school memorial to be built at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. The Confluence is only $60,000 away from the $1 million commitment made towards the city-led project. Every contribution counts, and we are so appreciative of everyone who took the time to contribute yesterday!

We’d also like to thank the sponsors and funders that made this event possible and successful. Thank you to the City of Calgary and Government of Canada for their funding and support, as well as the Hatlie Group for donating refreshments for the Bison Symposium.
