Applications for the FORGE pilot program are now open!

What is FORGE?
FORGE is an 8-month gap year program offered in partnership with Ambrose University & Camp Nakamun. Students will earn a Certificate of Christian Discipleship while living and serving at Camp. This partnership allows students to study God's word at an academic level while living in a Christian community that helps them grow in faith, character, and leadership.

HOW TO APPLY:
Space in this program is LIMITED so it's important to apply right away! Head to Ambrose University's website to apply - they'll walk you through making an ApplyAlberta account and starting your application. Then, select "Cert of Christian Discipleship" as your program, and 'Camp Nakamun (FORGE)" as the version of the program.

We're so excited to welcome students on site in September! Come learn more deeply who God created you to be, and how to walk faithfully in that calling. Apply today!

We are hosting two info sessions in October!

The Nakamun management and board are proposing a revamp of our Bylaws. This will be voted on during our AGM (November 21st) and needs a 3/4 majority to pass. We're hosting these two information sessions to inform our stakeholders and members about the proposed changes ahead of time, and to give them an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.

A Lead Cook spends their days cooking meals for the guests on site. This includes following recipes, working both individually and on a team, and ensuring the food is to our quality standard, all in a fast paced environment.

We are so excited to share this program with you!

FORGE is a NEW eight-month accredited certificate in discipleship offered in partnership with Ambrose University and Camp Nakamun! Students will grow through Spiritual Formation, Service Opportunities, Character & Leadership Development, and Outdoor Adventure Experiences.

At Camp Nakamun, we are passionate about discipling, building, and equipping leaders, then releasing them into their connected churches and communities to lead and disciple others. We have dreamed for a long time for an opportunity to continue this intentional discipleship at an academic level beyond the summer, and we are SO excited that our friends at Ambrose University have partnered with us to create an eight-month gap-year program designed to help students build a solid faith foundation for their life.

FORGE gives students the opportunity to study God's word at an academic level while being immersed in an active camp ministry context to explore what it means to serve God.

Applications for the September 2027 pilot program will open on October 1st, 2026 through Ambrose University's website! Because students are living, eating, and learning on-site at Camp Nakamun, limited space is available in the program. We can't wait to meet our first group of students next year!!

Registration is OPEN!!

📢 Calling all paid summer staff from 2025 and earlier! We want to hang out with you! Join us November 20th-22nd for a weekend of nostalgia!

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION:
$50 per night. To increase capacity, we may pair individuals together in accommodations. Invite your fellow alumni friends and write them down as a roommate request, or come on your own and meet some cool camp people. Either way, it'll be a party 😎

FAMILY REGISTRATION:
$50 per night for the first adult, and $20 per night for every additional adult (13+) in your shared accommodation. Kids 12 and under are free!

We love our alumni, and we want to give you space to reconnect with this place and each other. Please reach out if you have any questions about the weekend. We'd love to have you!

Gratitude is happening on November 21st at 1pm!

This is an intimate afternoon of worship, reflection from the past year, and ending with our annual general meeting. There will be coffee, tea, and great company! We also offer lunch before the event to all those who attend.

Additionally, we are planning to host two information sessions next month to discuss proposed important updates to the bylaws. More information on those to come next week.

Our Alumni Weekend is returning!

Reconnect will take place November 20th-22nd. This is an opportunity for past paid staff to, well, reconnect! If your final summer on paid staff was 2025 or earlier, we'd love to see you!

Registration will open NEXT WEEK, on Tuesday, September 15th. You can register as an individual, or bring your family! Mark it on your calendars, and invite your alumni friends for a fun time! :)
