Musician Bios

Jaron Freeman-Fox

Jaron Freeman-Fox redefines what a violin can do. Blending his roots in traditional fiddling with Indian classical music, jazz, and an adventurous sense of the ridiculous, Jaron creates music that is virtuosic, unpredictable, and impossible to pigeonhole.

A world-touring musician who has played on more than 40 albums, Jaron has shared stages with artists including Delhi 2 Dublin, Tanya Tagaq, Ben Caplan, and Sam Lee. He performs on the 5-string violin of his late mentor, fiddle pioneer Oliver Schroer, bringing a unique sound and boundless energy to the stage.

Jarred Albright

Jarred Albright is an Edmonton-based multi-instrumentalist whose musical journey began with classical violin at age seven and soon expanded into the rich traditions of fiddle, Celtic, folk, old-time, bluegrass, and jazz. Equally at home on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and banjo, Jarred brings a deep understanding of traditional music together with the versatility and improvisational spirit of a jazz musician.

A former member and assistant artistic director of the Calgary Fiddlers, Jarred has performed across Canada and around the world, including tours in the United States, South Korea, Scotland, England, and Ireland. He is also an accomplished teacher, recording artist, producer, and composer, and continues to perform with a diverse range of artists while sharing his love of music with students.
