Francois Ootsa Sporting Association The shooting range was inspected July 5.

The purposes of the society are:
-To Provide members with a common voice in lobbying their views in matters that could affect the Francois Lake and Ootsa Lake communities in BC.
-Sustain and preserve habitat for wildlife to allow populations to increase for sportsmen to enjoy in the Francois Lake and Ootsa Lake communities.
-To co-operate with other local and regional organizations in the Bulkley-Stikine regions in BC in furthering common goals.
-To promote outdoor education, enhance wildlife values to youth in the Francois Lake and Ootsa Lake communities. The Elected executives of this association are:

This is a reminder that the Wildlife Team will be doing compulsory inspections for sheep, mountain goats, and caribou this Thursday and Friday at the Terrace Rod & Gun Club. Please call to book an appointment and be prepared to provide as much info as possible over the phone or by email about your hunt. Individuals with scheduled appointments will receive preference over those without appointments.

Please share the word with people you know who may be needing a compulsory inspection.

Productive day on the range today. 2 culverts were installed on the range to assist with poor drainage as well as 2 culverts installed on the roadway itself. Rise' may have assisted with measuring tape, shovel, "do whatever your told" and photography duties, but the big thanks goes out to Jeremy Fleming/Hat Trick Enterprises for the use of his equipment and to David Gruen for his operating skills. Thanks for all you do!

A word of caution: Please take note of the disturbed ground, that settling may occur and the ditches will not be forgiving. The culverts on range have created a ground disturbance that was not previously there, so please pay attention when traveling on quads or in vehicles.

Sorry for the lack of 'advanced warning'. Today, Friday July 24th, we are putting in new culverts to make the trip into the range, as well as, driving out to the target berms, more friendly to your vehicles' suspension. So the range will be closed until the installations are done today.
