Delicia Carvery used to work in the corporate world, but after a restructure she found herself looking for an organization that aligned with her personal values. When she read the mission statement of The Salvation Army, she was inspired to apply.

Nearly 21 years later, Delicia loves working for The Salvation Army and meeting people where they’re at. Delicia connects donors with the impact of their giving, showing them how The Salvation Army makes a difference.

She is inspired by hearing donors’ stories and brings that joy to every interaction.

“I love sharing that with people⎯being that bright light and giving that hope back to people⎯blessing them before I end every call,” Delicia says.

[WATCH] Why This Donor Gives Securities

Throughout his life, Bob saw The Salvation Army support people through difficult times and was inspired to give back. After learning about gifting securities, he discovered it could make a meaningful impact while also providing tax benefits. Not only could he support our essential programs and services, but he could also receive significant tax advantages.

"Take the shares of the biggest capital gains, donate those, get your tax break and also don't pay capital gains tax on the shares." - Bob Pendreigh, Donor

Since opening our Williams Lake location in 2015, we’ve been proud to support The Salvation Army Williams Lake annual holiday community meal. ❤️

This year, Thanksgiving is taking the place of the Christmas meal we normally sponsor, and we’re happy to once again provide all the groceries — turkeys, potatoes, stuffing, carrots, milk, desserts and all the fixings! 🦃

As we celebrate 50 years of City Furniture & Appliances, supporting the communities that have supported us means more than ever.

A huge thank you to The Salvation Army and its amazing volunteers for everything they do for Williams Lake. ❤️ also thank you to FreshCo Williams Lake for the great service.

📅 Friday, October 9 | 12–1:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army.
