This fall, the 45th Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF 2026) brings incredible cinema from around the world to Vancouver; including two special films presented in Vietnamese: Ba’s Book and Still Night, Burning House.

Whether you’re looking to share a movie night with a parent, reconnect with your heritage, or simply experience stories told in our mother tongue, these screenings are a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza for this weekend’s Vietnamese cultural festival. A huge thanks to everyone involved from Soul of Vietnam Foundation and Vietnam Festival in Vancouver

To the dancers, musicians, and performers: thank you for bringing so much talent, energy, and care to the stage.

To the families, volunteers, and everyone who stopped by to watch and listen: thank you for making the plaza feel like home for the afternoon.

Events like this don’t just happen. They’re built by community members who care about keeping Southeast Asian heritage, arts, and traditions alive and visible right here in Metro Vancouver.

We’re SEACHS (Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Society), and we’re proud to support spaces where our communities can gather and celebrate together.

🧧 SEACHS is sending five members to this year’s East by Northwest, happening July 24–26 at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver! 🎤✨

Meet our delegates:

🎥 Khánh Nguyễn Khanh Nguyen is an award-winning Vietnamese-Canadian writer-director and script supervisor based in Vancouver. Her debut short film, NEPO BABY, won Best Foreign Short at the LA Femme International Film Festival. 🌟

🎬 Solara Thanh Bình Đặng solara thanh bình 雅文 is a writer, director and curious human being who resides with her cat in the unceded MST territories. Her award-winning short film “ripe” premiered at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival and was selected for Canada’s Top Ten Showcase hosted by TIFF and MUBI.

🎨 Kevin Ang Kevin Ang is a Chinese-Filipino-Canadian filmmaker and animator based in Vancouver. His upcoming short films “After Party” and “Kong Kong’s House of Kung Fu” are recipients of the Screen BC Short Film Award and Telus Storyhive Pan-Asian Storyteller grants respectively.

🎭 Andy Yu Andy Yu is one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising Asian actors, with credits including Alien: Earth, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Fargo Season 3, and more.

🎭 Ryan Lino Ryan Lino is a Leo Award and UBCP/ACTRA Award-nominated Filipino-Canadian actor, writer, and producer whose television credits include Family Law, Avatar: The Last Airbender, So Help Me Todd, and Firefly Lane.
