This morning, during BC Seniors' Week, BCCPA CEO Mary P***k will appear before the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services in Victoria, B.C. to urge the provincial government to make meaningful investments in seniors’ care in Budget 2027.

Her presentation will highlight recommendations from BCCPA’s 2027 Budget Submission, released today, aimed at helping the province respond to growing pressures across the seniors care sector.

The submission makes four key recommendations:
1. Modernize Long-Term Care Funding
2. Strengthen the Care Workforce
3. Expand Seniors Care Capacity​
4. Support Aging in the Right Place

June 1 – 7, 2026 marks B.C. Seniors’ Week, a special time to celebrate and recognize older adults and their contributions across the province.

Every senior deserves care, respect, and support. They have a right to age where they feel safe, supported, and valued. That’s why we are calling for the establishment of a tax credit to help seniors age in the right place and to live safely and comfortably in their communities.
