SFSS Out On Campus Out On Campus is SFU's resource centre for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies. Out on Campus is SFU's 2SLGBTQIA+ resource center.

We offer resources, supplies, and events to foster a vibrant and safe community on campus. Out on Campus is located in the Student Union Building (SUB 2230) at the Burnaby campus of Simon Fraser University. To the best of our knowledge, we are on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and sel̓íl̓witulh nations. At Out on Campus, we strive to offer a safer space for peoples of al

l genders and orientations. We offer a specialized library, peer support and crisis referrals, a volunteer program, events, workshops, free and diverse safer s*x supplies and a lounge for folks to study or relax. • Support 2SLGBTQIA+ students through peer support and resources.
• Help plan and run community events
• Collaborate with the OOC Collective to strengthen 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Great news shared by our friends at SFU Graduate Student Society - the Green Shield insurance eliminated per procedure caps for their Gender-Affirming Care benefits for SFU Undergraduate and Graduate students, as well as all folks using Green Shield for their Gender-Affirming Care benefits!

We are still waiting for the information on the Studentcare/Alumo website to reflect this change, but you can explore what your coverage includes through the link in our bio now!

🔔 Important note! If you graduated in June, you can still submit claims until August 31st up to the 50k maximum!

You can access more support in understanding what benefits are available to you through Studentcare/Alumo office in the SUB 2301 room or through staff at OOC!

Keep the Pride celebrations going with a Movie Break! We'll be watching Small Town Pride (2022): Filmed in Alberta, Nova Scotia and the Northwest Territories, the film follows LGBTQ2S+ people and allies as they prepare for their local Pride celebrations. Organizing in church basements, classrooms and around kitchen tables, they take on a conservative town council that won't fly a rainbow flag and bend some rules to create a safe space for youth to come out. But despite experiences of isolation and discrimination, they love their communities and strive to make them places where everyone, no matter who and how they love, can live and thrive.

Happy Pride everyone! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💫

In celebration, the SFSS Women's Centre and Out On Campus will be hosting a free Pride Barbeque on Thursday, June 18th from 12:00 to 3:00 pm. This event is open to all Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Fraser International College (FIC) students and will be taking place in Embark Sustainability's Learning Garden, south of Maggie Benson Centre (MBC). Our Pride Barbeque is a wonderful opportunity to catch some rays, listen to music, partake in games, and enjoy delicious food amongst friends and allies!

Food and refreshments are limited to a first come, first serve basis, so get it while its hot! We hope to see you there! 🌈🦋🏳️‍🌈
