For Tori Hunter, Disability Pride Month is a celebration of community, identity, and every unique journey within it.

Living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Tori knows that disability comes with challenges, but also with connection, accomplishment, joy, and pride.

Through sharing her story, Tori is helping create a world where people with disabilities are celebrated for who they are and all they do.

Today, we celebrate Tori and the many voices helping build a more accessible and inclusive future.

Atteinte d’amyotrophie spinale, Tori sait que le handicap comporte des défis, mais aussi des occasions de créer des liens, d’accomplir de grandes choses, de trouver de la joie et d’éprouver de la fierté.

En partageant son histoire, Tori contribue à bâtir un monde où les personnes en situation de handicap sont reconnues et célébrées pour qui elles sont et pour tout ce qu’elles accomplissent.

Walking the talk.

For over a decade, Cameron Adams has been helping reclaim and revitalize Indigenous languages.

A 2017 Terry Fox Humanitarian Award recipient and Swampy Cree language advocate, Cameron has dedicated his life and career to ensuring Indigenous languages are learned, spoken, and celebrated by future generations.

Currently, Cameron leads Manitoba's K-12 Indigenous Languages Strategy, while continuing to champion language revitalization across Canada.

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we proudly celebrate Cameron's leadership and his ongoing work to ensure Indigenous languages are learned, spoken, and celebrated for generations to come.

Marcher le talk.

Depuis plus de dix ans, Cameron Adams contribue à la revitalisation et à la préservation des langues autochtones.

Lauréat du Prix humanitaire Terry Fox en 2017 et défenseur de la langue crie des marais (Swampy Cree), Cameron a consacré sa vie et sa carrière à faire en sorte que les langues autochtones soient apprises, parlées et célébrées par les générations à venir.

Aujourd’hui, Cameron dirige la Stratégie des langues autochtones pour les élèves de la maternelle à la 12e année au Manitoba, tout en continuant de promouvoir la revitalisation linguistique partout au Canada.

En cette Journée nationale des peuples autochtones, nous célébrons fièrement le leadership de Cameron et son travail continu pour que les langues autochtones soient apprises, parlées et célébrées pour les générations futures.

A meaningful moment in the House of Commons.

Thank you to event co-host John Brassard for recognizing the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award during Question Period on Parliament Hill.

As Paulina, our graduates, and the 2026 Award recipients stood in the House, it was a powerful reminder of the national importance of Terry’s legacy, and of the young humanitarians carrying it forward through service, courage, and determination.

When you're recognizing Canada's next generation of humanitarians, there's no better place to do it than Parliament Hill.

The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award proudly welcomed our 2026 recipients and celebrated our graduates; we honoured our young change-makers whose leadership, service, courage, and compassion reflect Terry’s legacy at its best.

The celebratory day was a powerful reminder of what can happen when individuals choose action over apathy, kindness over indifference, service over self-interest, and love over everything else.

Quand on reconnaît la prochaine génération d’humanitaires du Canada, il n’y a vraiment pas de meilleur endroit pour le faire que sur la Colline du Parlement.

Le Prix humanitaire Terry Fox a fièrement accueilli ses récipiendaires de 2026 et célébré ses finissants; nous avons rendu hommage à de jeunes agents de changement dont le leadership, le service, le courage et la compassion reflètent à merveille le meilleur de l’héritage de Terry.

This may be one of the biggest thank yous we've ever had to write… and for good reason.

We're incredibly grateful (and yes, there are a lot of names coming) to the parliamentary hosts and speakers who helped make this year's Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Recognition Event on Parliament Hill so meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to Hon. Francis Scarpaleggia, Hon. Greg Fergus, Hon. Mona Fortier, John Brassard, Andréanne Larouche, Jenny Kwan, and Elizabeth May for welcoming us, sharing remarks, and helping celebrate the remarkable achievements of this year's recipients and graduates.

We're also thankful and grateful to TFHA alumnus Justin Langan for delivering the Land Acknowledgement and helping set the tone for the event.

And the appreciation doesn’t stop there. Another sincere thank you to the many MPs who joined us in support of Canada’s next generation of humanitarians.

Ça risque bien d’être l’un des plus grands remerciements qu’on ait eu à écrire… et pour une très bonne raison.

Nous sommes extrêmement reconnaissants (et oui, il y a beaucoup de noms à venir) envers les hôtes parlementaires et les intervenants qui ont contribué à faire de l’Événement de reconnaissance des lauréats du Prix humanitaire Terry Fox, sur la Colline du Parlement, un moment aussi significatif cette année.

La semaine passée, sur la Colline du Parlement, on a fièrement célébré nos récipiendaires 2026 ainsi que nos boursiers et boursières qui terminent leur parcours.
