Rotary is a fellowship of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and held build goodwill and peace around the world. Rotary leads the world in the fight to eradicate Polio, inoculating over two billion children against this dreaded disease. One of our Club's focus is youth. Our "Boots for Kids" projects provides new winter boots to Burnaby children.

Today is International Literacy Day! Rotarians make it possible for people of all ages to change their lives through education. These kinds of transformational opportunities include early childhood education, foundational literacy and numeracy classes, technology programs, and continuing education for teachers.

Whether a project is organized by the Rotary Club of Burnaby-Deer Lake or by a club far away, these efforts are connected through Rotary and our dedication to Doing Good in the World.

Caught sight of the Rotary wheel sign proudly displayed on a post while driving down a vibrant street, a heartening reminder of community spirit in action. I was on the passenger seat, otherwise would have missed the sign.

Members and family came together at the Indo-Africa Charitable Society's 13th Annual Mothers Day Gala, fueling a powerful mission to support the Uganda medical mission team. IACS remains committed to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities in Uganda, India, and local Canadian communities, driving positive change and empowering those in need.
