SFU Iranian Club

SFU Iranian Club is a non-profit student organization that aims to bring Iranians and non-Iranians alike in a celebration of our culture and heritage.

To encourage and promote Iranian culture and heritage among its members. This is achieved through organizing social activities. Iranian Club also tries to improve the link between Iranians and other cultures as we believe in both unity and diversity.

More than forty days have passed since thousands of our fellow countrymen were slaughtered by the regime of the Islamic Republic.

To honor their memory and sacrifice, we invite you to a memorial gathering on February 25th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Convocation Mall.

If you are able, please bring flowers, candles, and photographs of those who gave their lives in our fight for freedom.

May their names live on forever 🖤

We, the Iranian Students’ Associations across Canada, have come together to demonstrate our solidarity and support for our patriots fighting for a free Iran. As of today, reports indicate over 12,000 deaths as we enter the sixth day of a complete internet shutdown in Iran. To honour the bravery of those who have sacrificed their lives for a free Iran, and to raise awareness among university students and Western media, we invite everyone, whether a student or not, to join us

On Friday, January 16, 3:30 p.m - 4:30 p.m
Burnaby Campus Convocation Mall

We encourage all participants to bring national symbols of Iran, printed photos of those murdered or imprisoned by the Islamic Republic, informational posters regarding the current uprisings in Iran, and the flag of our Canada to show that Iranian Canadians are united with their people in our motherland and our second home. Please refrain from bringing other nations’ flags or symbols, as we aim to maintain focus on our beloved country, Iran.

For safety purposes:

We encourage attendees to dress appropriately for the weather.
Media representatives may be present, and you may be photographed. Please feel free to cover your face if you do not wish for your face to be shown.

We acknowledge that diverse opinions exist across the diaspora and among non-Iranian individuals. If anyone attempts to disrupt or hijack our rally, please refrain from any verbal or physical confrontation and inform the organizers. Campus security will address the situation safely.

SFU Health and Counselling is offering a safe space for students affected by the unsettling situation in Iran to connect and support one another. Led by a Registered Clinical Counsellor, this drop in group focuses on managing the emotional impact of these events, such as the stress of lost contact with family. Come join us to share your experience and find strength through collective care.
