In Her Circle presents ‘For Jenna’ — a short film about love and community, and the limits of both against a system not built to hold mothers and babies together during an acute perinatal mental health crisis.

The trailer for the film is on the 3rd slide, swipe to view 💜

Perinatal mental health disorders are the most common complication of pregnancy, and yet there are no dedicated mental health units where severe and acute perinatal mental health disorders can be treated without separating mothers from their babies.

In Her Circle is a nonprofit with a mission to close gaps in perinatal mental health care — mobilizing communities through fundraising, storytelling, and advocacy.
Stories shift culture. That's why In Her Circle is sharing Jenna's postpartum story.

And, this isn't just Jenna's story. So many mothers are currently navigating gaps in our healthcare system, or have.

Help make sure Jenna's postpartum story is a turning point, not just a tragedy.

Head to the link below to watch the film and find out how to take action.

👣Are you a couple expecting your first baby?

🔍 The SWell Lab is seeking couples from Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland who are up to 26 weeks pregnant to participate in the STORK RCT: Supporting the Transition to Parenthood through Online S*x and Relationship Knowledge.

❓What is STORK: The first online couple-based program designed to enhance knowledge about changes to sexuality during pregnancy and postpartum and skills to cope with these changes. STORK was designed to strengthen couples’ relationships across the transition to parenthood.

📅 What is involved: If you are eligible, after your initial survey, you and your partner will be randomized (like a coin flip) into either the Program or Waitlist conditions. Program couples will complete 5 online modules in pregnancy (1 per week) and a final module at 3 months postpartum. Couples in both conditions will also complete 5 surveys—the initial survey, then at 32-weeks pregnant, and 4-, 8-, and 12-month postpartum—that gather information about your relationship, your pregnancy experience, and your child. Couples in the Waitlist condition will receive access to the full STORK program after the study period is over.

💰 Compensation: As a thank you for your participation, you can receive $105 CAD or currency equivalent each ($210 CAD or currency equivalent per couple). Your time is valuable to us!

🌈 Inclusivity matters: STORK requires one member of the couple to be currently pregnant. Otherwise, STORK is open to individuals of all genders, bodies, and sexual orientations.

💌 For more information or to participate in the STORK RCT study, contact the SWell Lab at [email protected].

PPPSS couldn't be more grateful and proud to have been a part of .her.circle this month. We've been moved deeply by the incredible determination, community and care this movement is grounded in.

Our drop in group held over 100 new parents in its circle last year, and we are so glad it can continue to be a soft place for folks to land.

Thank you to everyone who donated in so many ways, and to everyone who held the love and grief for Jenna's circle.

If you, or someone you know is struggling during the perinatal period please reach out. We are here to walk alongside you.
