On September 30, New Vista Society recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and honours the children who never returned home, survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities.

Today is an opportunity to reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system, and on the importance of listening, learning and continuing the work of reconciliation.

Residents recently came together to celebrate Chuseok with an afternoon of music, traditional treats and time together.

Entertainer Kim Sung-hwan joined us for some great music, while residents enjoyed hangwa, rice cakes and sikhye as part of the celebration.

Members of the New Vista Society team recently joined MLA Paul Choi and members of the Burnaby community to celebrate the grand opening of his Burnaby South-Metrotown constituency office.

It was a great opportunity to connect with local leaders, organizations and community members.

Margaret Koster Residence is now welcoming residents, bringing 53 new homes for seniors and families to Burnaby.

Named in honour of long-time volunteer Margaret Koster and operated by New Vista Society, the new residence is another important addition to affordable housing in our community.

Construction continues to make great progress at New Vista Society's Royal Crescent affordable housing development in Maple Ridge. With floor joist installation now underway on the third floor, this future community for seniors is continuing to take shape.

A big thank you to The Rose of Sharon Care Society and everyone who supported the recent community garage sale in support of New Vista Care Home residents.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, shoppers, and community partners, the fundraiser will help enhance resident programs, activities, and quality-of-life experiences.

Residents celebrated Canada Day with an afternoon of music, laughter, and Canadian pride. 🇨🇦

Everyone came together to sing O Canada, enjoy a live musical performance, wave their flags, and cool off with some delicious ice cream.

Residents gathered together to cheer on Canada during the FIFA World Cup matchup against Qatar 🇨🇦⚽

With plenty of excitement in the room, everyone enjoyed watching the action together and celebrating the occasion.
