Dan Cooper is a Master Gardener and the co-author of Gardening from a Hammock, a book about low-maintenance gardening featuring close to 300 easy-care plant selections and tips from expert garden designer, landscapers and Master Gardeners.

Dan is a landscape designer who specializes in shade gardens and organic gardening. He is the owner of Green Gardens and Tours, a company that provides garden design, advice and tours to exotic
gardens.

Dan is a member of the Garden Writers Association and his articles have appeared on the 50Plus magazine and website, in the travel magazine "Transitions Abroad", in “Trellis” the Toronto Botanical
Garden’s magazine, Ontario Gardener, Canadian Organic Grower, and in Australia’s national
newspaper "The Australian."

David L. Wagner is a professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Connecticut with core research interests in butterflies and moths, insect decline, and invertebrate conservation. Dr. Wagner received a B.S. in plant science from Colorado State University and a Ph.D. in entomology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Wagner’s most recent book, Moths of the World: A Natural History, released in 2025, and Caterpillars of Eastern North America: A Guide to Identification and Natural History (Princeton) have cemented his reputation as a leading expert in his field.
