We were delighted to welcome Raewyn Jackson, Director of Burlington Transit, and Mayor Marianne Meed Ward to our community lunch last week.

We are incredibly grateful that they took the time to join us, share updates on the improvements being made to Burlington's transit system, and, most importantly, listen to the questions, ideas, and experiences of our community members.

This week, we're celebrating Local Food Week—a time to recognize the importance of supporting local farmers, food producers, and community food systems that help keep fresh, nutritious food on our tables.

At Open Doors, local food is more than a concept—it's something we grow right here on our property. Our garden provides fresh vegetables, herbs, and other produce that help support our Community Market and Hot Meal Programs throughout the season.

Growing food on-site allows us to offer healthy, local ingredients while building community connections and promoting food sustainability.

We'd love for you to see it for yourself! Come visit our garden, learn about what we're growing, and discover how you can help. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just looking to lend a hand, there's a place for you in our garden community.
