This might be controversial, but... not every emotion is telling you the truth.

Thank you for reminding us that our feelings are real, but they're not always reliable.

Sometimes an oversized emotional reaction is pointing to a deeper wound, an old pain, or a belief we didn't even realize we were carrying.

The question isn't just "What am I feeling?"—it's "Why am I feeling it?"

Culture says: "I'm triggered, let's not talk about it."

But what if that's not what a trigger actually is?

This week, Nicole Langman helps us unpack a word that's everywhere right now. Real triggers aren't simply moments of discomfort—they often reveal deeper wounds, past pain, and areas where healing is still needed.

Watch the full discussion and discover how faith and emotional health can work together.

Why Are We So Triggered?

Have you ever had a reaction that felt bigger than the moment?

Maybe something small that set you off, or shut you down, and even you thought… “Why did that affect me so much?”

All this week, we’re talking about something many of us feel but don’t always understand .. why we get triggered and what God wants to do in those moments.

Well, we live in a time where emotional awareness is high, but so are our emotional reactions.

Words like triggered, boundaries, toxic—they’re everywhere.

But how do we discern the difference between something that needs healing and something we’re simply reacting to?

And how does our faith shape the way we respond?

And to help us unpack and answer these questions .. OUR PANELISTS:

Helen Burns – Pastor, International Speaker, Mentor to the next Generation

Senait Litchmore – Registered Psychotherapist, National Speaker & Author

Nicole Langman – Christian Therapist, International Speaker, Award Winning Author

We need ALL of us. This is the Church.

Thanks Nicole for reminding us .. for spurring us on ... for encouraging us. We need one another to accomplish the purposes of God. To love one another. To serve one another. To take care of each other. To be witnesses of each other's stories intertwined with God's story. Yes and Amen!

All This Week 🙌🏽

How do women understand their roles and participate in the local church?

The National Study on Women in Canadian Evangelical Churches began with a simple aim: to listen carefully to Canadian women as they reflect on their roles in their local churches and the factors that shape their involvement.

While women are deeply woven into the life of local congregations, their perspectives on participation remain largely understudied. Across evangelical communities, women’s engagement is influenced by seasons of life, vocational demands, theological convictions, and congregational culture.

This report draws on a robust dataset of 74 interviews and over 2,000 survey responses to explore the lives of Canadian evangelical women. It explores where women are flourishing, where they encounter limits, and how churches might more faithfully support their participation in the life and ministry of the church for the good of the whole church.
